About Us

Kate and Helen are highly qualified complementary health practitioners­ who also have a background in nursing. They each have over 10 years of experience in working w­ith people who, following a physical, emotional or spiritual crisis have chosen to re-evaluate their lives and make changes to improve their health and well-being. They have witnessed the ability of complementary therapies and stress management techniques to enhance the body's natural healing potential allowing people to regain a sense of control over their health and to feel more fulfilled in their life.

Helen Cooke RGN MA Dip Counselling

Helen has a nursing background and has specialised in the field of complementary health. As well as being qualified in counselling, reflexology and massage she holds an MA in Complementary Health Studies. She worked for 16 years at Penny Brohn Cancer Care (formerly Bristol Cancer Help Centre) as the Director of Therapy and then as head of the Information Department. Helen was a member of a European panel, which reviews and disseminates information on complementary therapies.

In her nursing career Kate specialised in cancer care. She has a particular interest in how complementary therapies can be successfully integrated with conventional medicine to support people, addressing not only the body, but the mind, spirit and emotions. Kate is a massage therapist and reflexologist and runs a successful private practice. She also the Senior Nurse Therapist at Penny Brohn Cancer Care (formerly Bristol Cancer Help Centre) providing emotional support, lifestyle advice and complementary therapies. She lectures at conferences and is often called upon by the media to be a spokesperson in this field.
